Assembly easier than expected - When I opened the two packages the Prepac PS-6000 arrived in and looked at all those parts and the two sheets of assembly instructions, a cold chill ran down my spine. I recalled the birdhouse and lamp I tortured into existance in my 9th grade shop class. I went on line and found very helpful information on Prepac s website, including a help line and videos related to assembly. This eased my mind and I had no problem at all with the assembly. I did not need to call the assembly help line even once.It is a nice classic look, sturdy, and spacious. Very satisfied.

Prepac PS-6000 - We got the product in black. It looks good, and has lots of storage. The top is a nice size for our 40 LCD TV and two black speakers. We chose not to use the legs, and think the unit looks fine just sitting on the carpet.I am not at all handy, but assembly was straightforward. All parts and hardware matched up very well. It took me three or four hours to assemble, and I was able to do it alone. I would give the product 5 stars except for the following:1. Prepac shorted me one small part, which was annoying. They sent it via UPS, which took about a week. Fortunately, I was able to add the part after final assembly.2. The instructions were OK. but were a bit brief and general for someone inept (like me) who is used to seeing more detail, with cabinet parts labeled A, B, C, ... etc.3. I found the magnetic catches to be somewhat weak for fully-loaded doors, and replaced them with a pair of catches with heavy-duty magnets.In conclusion, if you are looking for a stunning piece of fine furniture, you should pay more and look elsewhere. If you want an inexpensive, decent-looking, functional stand for your LCD or plasma TV, I would recommend the Prepac PS-6000.

EXCELLENT STAND FOR FLAT SCREEN (INCLUDES LOTS OF STORAGE) - I purchased this stand to take my new Samsung 46 1080p LCD television. It looks fantastic and goes well with the tv bezel s red Touch of Color accent. There is a ton of DVD/CD storage, and it s all hidden. Cable box and component space in the center is well-thought out. It came in two large, heavy boxes (no delivery charge). Some negatives: assembly took me two evenings, maybe 5 hours (but I take a while to visualize each assembly step ahead of time), at first, many of the shelves/sides look alike and are not marked, instructions are OK, but in some steps don t mention ahead of time some key information (such as which door should be used on which side - you have to note the later-mentioned magnetic latch plate in order not to do it incorrectly), the two doors that hinge on each side are very heavy and almost require a second person to help install, most of the prefab construction requires use of those annoying cams). Having said all this, careful assembly results in a VERY NICE, USEFUL AND VERSATILE TV STAND. It s a really good unit, and worth the time and effort put into the assembly. I recommend taking your time, getting help for the final steps, and being patient. My new 46 set is slightly smaller than the width of this unit, which allows for future expansion of the screen size! Plus, the doors hide a huge amount of DVD storage, which even takes my large Seinfeld collection boxes. Amazon had the best price. Delivery was fine. It helps to have lots of floor space to spread out, btw. Occasionally, I felt the instructions were less than perfect. But don t let that intimidate you. I rate the final product 5 stars.
